Activity Report—Expanding the Reach and Influence of the CT.Uni Project

In our ongoing commitment to the CT.Uni project, “Creative Thinking – Taking an Innovative and STEAM Approach for a Transdisciplinary University," our team has undertaken a series of robust initiatives to amplify its mission and extend its resonance throughout the academic community.

  1. Student Engagement: On October 4th, 2023, Aula XI, 3rd floor of the Department of Social Psychology at Sapienza, echoed with the enthusiasm of approximately 80 students. These students, hailing from two distinct elective courses, including the teaching Lab included in the course on Psychology of Organizational Communication, gathered for an in-depth briefing about the CT.Uni project's core objectives and its profound implications for the future of interdisciplinary education. The core of this meeting was the introduction of a meticulously designed survey. Intended to capture the nuanced perspectives of students, this survey is a pivotal tool in gauging creative thinking and collaboration dynamics between diverse academic and industry stakeholders. Notably, the session was not merely a passive presentation; it was a two-way dialogue. Students actively engaged, raising pertinent questions and showcasing their keen interest in the project’s outcomes. Their palpable anticipation for the survey results underscores the project’s relevance in today's academic milieu.
  2. Outreach to University Lecturers and Managers: Beginning October 5th, 2023, our digital outreach campaign took flight, targeting eminent lecturers and administrative trailblazers from universities all across Italy. In a detailed email co-authored by Professor Marino Bonaiuto and Ph.D. student Mei Xie, we emphasized the integral role academia, spread throughout the diverse Italian landscape, plays in forging collaborative paradigms with external entities. The overwhelming and enthusiastic responses received came from all corners of Italy, symbolizing the unity and shared vision of the Italian academic community. Notable responses included those from luminary academics across different scientific areas, mostly within social sciences, architecture and design. Respondents feature for example Aiello Antonio of the University of Pisa, Catellani Patrizia of the Catholic University of Milan, and Fasanelli Roberto of the University of Naples “Federico II.” Their collective insights, drawn from their expansive and varied experiences across the length and breadth of Italy, promise to enrich our project, placing it at the pinnacle of contemporary academic research initiatives.

In conclusion, our recent endeavors highlight the relentless and continuous efforts we are making to propel the CT.Uni project forward. At Sapienza, our dedication is more than mere participation; it is a commitment to excellence and innovation in our academic pursuits. Recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives in enriching our project's outcomes, we are planning an array of future events aimed at gathering insights from various stakeholders. We are not just conducting research; we are orchestrating a movement, aiming to ensure that the CT.Uni project evolves with comprehensive inputs and makes a profound impact on higher education globally.
