About us

The Department of Psychology of Developmental and Socialization Processes (DPPSS) was established by the Rectoral Decree of December 30, 1982, and has been active since January 1, 1983; since 2011, it has been part of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology. Its staff includes 18 full professors, 22 associate professors, 4 permanent researchers, 5 temporary researchers (type A and B), 2 RTT, 1 professor emeritus; it has 11 TAB staff units in addition to the RAD. The Department also includes non-permanent staff (PhD students, research fellows, research scholarship holders, and contractors of various kinds) who contribute to research activities. The facility hosts scientific visitors and visiting professors/researchers from other Italian and foreign universities. The Department operates in three areas: Research, which includes a wide range of studies that include laboratory experiments and empirical research in different contexts of social life, through the use and validation of innovative tools, and the adoption of complex data analysis techniques; Teaching, whose 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level courses are designed by combining a solid generalist preparation with the operational skills provided by the various disciplines present in the three-year and master's degree courses; the third mission, through the offer of Consultancy services, an ideal link between academic research and the territory.
The departmental structure, which has six Laboratories and five Consulting Services for the territory, is currently divided into two locations, in Via dei Marsi 78 (at the building of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology) and Via Carlo Fea 2 (at Villa Mirafiori).
Further detailed information on the opening hours and services offered is available in the Offices and Facilities section.
