Four internal committees have been established within the Department: the Research Committee, the Teaching Committee, the Third Mission Committee, and the Quality Assurance Committee.
The Research Committee was created to monitor the overall progress of research activities and is composed of faculty members selected from among full and associate professors and researchers, the Department Director, and the Departmental Research Coordinator.
Current members include: Michele Vecchione, Anna Di Norcia, Andrea Chirico, Ilaria Bufalari, Giordana Szpunar, Fiorenzo Laghi, and Elisa Marsico.
The Teaching Committee coordinates the various activities, communicates with the SSDs, and periodically discusses monitoring activities. It is composed of the Department Director, the Chairs of the Degree Programs (or teaching coordinators), the Doctoral Program Coordinator, the Director of the Specialization School, and the Departmental Teaching Coordinator.
The Third Mission Committee was established to monitor the overall progress of Third Mission activities and is composed of faculty members selected from among full-time and associate professors and researchers, the Department Director, and the Departmental Research Coordinator.
Current members: Giorgio Asquini, Francesca Alby, Elena Bocci, Silvia Cataldi, Fiorenzo Laghi, and Elisa Marsico.
The QA Committee is responsible for quality assurance activities related to teaching, research, and Third Mission activities conducted in the Department. It is composed of faculty members selected from among full-time and associate professors and researchers, the Department Director, the Departmental Teaching Coordinator, and the Departmental Research Coordinator.

Following the Strategic Support and Training Offering Area's memo dated November 11, 2025, regarding the launch of the Departmental Review by the Quality Assurance Management Commission, the document format included the indication of mandatory members and "other members" of the Commission. The Commission was therefore integrated with the departmental contact for the Third Mission and with some members of the Research Commission and the Teaching Commission.
