Research for citizens and the territory

The Department combines the institutional activities of academic research and teaching with a series of third mission activities. It is, in fact, characterized by a marked openness towards the socio-economic context, a propensity exercised through the valorization and transfer of existing knowledge. In harmony with the main lines of research active in the various SSDs, the Department is committed to increasing the application impacts of its research on the territory, through collaboration with schools of all levels, local administrations and bodies, local health authorities, companies, private bodies, and associations. This framework includes numerous third mission activities that the Department regularly carries out in the area. The Department therefore promotes seminar activities, workshops and conferences aimed at disseminating and transferring scientific knowledge in the following thematic areas of strategic interest: results of qualitative and quantitative research and interventions in the psychology of normal and clinical development, with particular interest in the related to gender identity and those relating to autism spectrum disorders; results of research relating to the areas of social, community and organizational psychology, with particular reference to issues related to health in the workplace, integration in multi-ethnic contexts, and group dynamics in organisational, sporting and educational contexts. At the same time, the Department is also committed to promoting seminar and conference activities aimed at transferring the skills acquired in the scientific and methodological fields to doctoral students, trainees and all professional figures active in the socio-health, educational and normal and clinical development areas and organizationss. Another method that characterizes the dissemination activity is represented by the participation in external events, such as national and international conferences, of teachers within the Department.

The Department hosts five consultancy services aimed at citizens and the territory, which create a strong connection between research experiences and socio-economic impact.
