Information for students
Sport psychology, and in particular the aspect of consultancy in this area, has quickly developed at the international level without, however, obtaining adequate recognition in Italy, where uniformity of training courses for professionals in the sector is still lacking. For this reason, it is extremely important and useful to develop a qualified and professional clinical service within the university context, which interconnects the world of research with the multiple psychological needs that can emerge in the world of sport.
The Center for Sport Psychology intends to offer a space for consultancy and psychological support aimed at athletes of any age and competitive level, teams, coaches, referees, sports clubs, sports promotion bodies, sports federations.
ACTIVITIES
Psychological support for improving athletes' performance and developing personal resources
Support and guide the athlete in learning and applying psychological techniques aimed at maximizing the chances of delivering their best competitive performance.
Organizational and training interventions
Provide advice to the reference system of the athlete inserted in professional and/or health promotion contexts through physical activity, so that all actors are aware of their roles and participate in a functional and competent manner in achieving the set objectives.
Interventions in specific situations
Help the athlete to deal with events that are difficult to manage (injuries, career transition phases, conflicts, etc.) which could, in addition to implying a reduction in performance in training and/or competition, turn into uncomfortable situations with consequences on the well-being of the person.
